Students must arrive to their classes at least 5 minutes early so that they do not miss any of the warm up. Students more than 10 minutes late will not be allowed to participate in class. This is for the safety of the dancer. Without proper warm-up dancers are susceptible to injury. They may stay and watch class to ensure that do not miss that week's instruction.**
**During COVID-19 our regular make up policy has been altered. With limited in-person class sizes, we cannot allow extra students in classes that they are not registered for. If a child misses a class, they are responsible for speaking with their teacher to determine a make-up class that does not interfere with our COVID-19 class maximums. Whether you make up the class or not, the monthly fee remains the same. There will not be any refunds or credits for missed classes.
Students must be picked up promptly after class. For the foreseeable future, the front office is closed during class hours. Any children not picked up promptly will have to remain in the classroom which will conflict with our COVID-19 protocol requirements. Any parent who is unable to pick up their child promptly following class two times or more will be asked to have their child take classes online only.
If a music student will be absent they must contact the teacher directly 24 hours prior to the lesson and reschedule.
Progressive level students must make up their classes. While our COVID-19 protocols are in place, progressive students must receive make-up directions from the teacher of their missed class.
Students are expected to treat their teachers and each other with respect and kindness. Any inappropriate, cruel, or disrespectful behavior will be addressed with parents by our faculty and staff and may result in a student being removed from a class.
All dress code items, including hip alignment belts, can be purchased from Liesl's Dancewear!
It is important to remember that dance is a physical art-form executed in a group setting. In a dance studio where activities induce sweat and children are moving through the space, extreme body odors can become a terrible distraction and an embarrassment for the child if a classmate is insensitive and says something out loud.
This check list is a friendly reminder so that all individuals experience a pleasant environment:
